This clever wee design appeals to me a lot. It sits within Adelaide, Fraser and Harry’s gorgeous Melbourne home who clearly have a great eye for design. If it adorned my wall it might possibly say………i’ll just fly………off to somewhere exotic of course.

A touch of greenery goes a long way….I love it how beautiful pots can transform often dull, hard areas into delightful spaces. The contrasting textures and patterns of the greenery adds a softness to the space whilst varying tones adds interest and depth to the scheme overall.

It’s been a great week. Lots happening of course but this week we nailed a couple of rugs for a client’s kitchen/dining space and I am very excited to say the least. The Ivy House , (who have been amazing), supply Armadillo Rugs which I am completely in love with. The best thing is that you get to play around with the colours so that you end up with something that you truly love. What more could you want?

Well acutally it has been one of those months where things just seem to be so busy that I think my head may just blow its top. But each time I check it’s still firmly planted onto my shoulders. Small miracles really. And little things happen that make me realise that it is all worthwhile…like the couple I met last week who are just so, so lovely…they made me realise again why I love doing what I do. Or my gorgeous friend and her ever so gorgeous husband and their overwhelming talent, they are truly magical. Anyway this post doesn’t really relate to anything at all, just merely some things that bring me joy like so many of the people in my life…

We need to paint our house. I want it to be black. Some people look at me strangely. Ok so maybe it’s not that practical but who needs to be practical. Look at these lovely homes, so simple, so beautiful. How can I not?

I need to spend more time in my garden, it’s a simple fact. This is reinforced whenever I see such shots as these. Ever so pretty and quite simply beautiful.

There is a lot to be said for collections of treasures. They often tell a story about the owner’s life, a slice of history, happy moments and special times.

Beautiful rugs, who can pass them by? Not me. They do wonders for a space, often drawing the eye to an area within a room, defining that area and adding character. They are a simple way to add a very welcome pop of colour, pattern and texture even in the smallest of spaces.

I would love to get my hands on one or two of these little Bright Sprout lights or perhaps the lovely Hazel, both made by Nordic Tales. If it’s the Bright Sprout that you love and if you are lucky enough to live in Wellington then Small Acorns may just be able to help you as they have several hanging in their window at the moment. The gorgeous wooden tones, the bright pops of colour and the ability to mix it up make them the perfect lighting addition to any home…

I gravitate towards styles that have a mix of old and new. Places with history and memories whilst not being too bogged down with the old. In saying that, my own home does run the risk of being somewhat over sentimental and some might say cluttered. Anyway it’s just what I like. It makes me feel at home and it reminds me of many happy passed times…
